Description
The Graham Beck Brut Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Chardonnay. This delicious and versatile South African "Champagne" combines rich creamy aromas with hints of fresh lime fruit in the nose. On the palate you can expect an exciting fine mousse with an explosion of fruit. The Blanc de Blancs has a beautiful bouquet with lemon, hints of white peach and apple blossom that is very well defined and seductive. On the palate the wine has subtle hints of dried mango and Golden Delicious. The palate is crisp and tight with an austerity that you would expect from a good Blanc de Blancs.
This special sparkling wine is made largely from Pinot Noir and a smaller portion of Chardonnay grapes. What makes this wine special is that no liqueur d'expedition (a mixture of sugar and wine) has been added. This way you get a wine in its purest form. Both grape varieties were harvested on the same day and then pressed together in proportion. The Méthode Cap Classique was used to make this sparkling wine. The juice was obtained by pressing the whole bunches, after which the best juice was selected for this wine. After the clear juice has rested for 2 days, it is placed in stainless steel tanks, where fermentation takes place at a temperature of 15°C. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle, after which the wine rests on its sediment for 60 months.
The Graham Beck MCC Brut Vintage Ultra Brut has a golden peach color in the glass. The lively bouquet has aromas of cherries, blueberries, almonds and spices. A delicate, yet complex palette with abundant flavors of red currant, yellow stone fruit and hints of brioche. The wine has a beautiful balance and a long, salty finish. The Pinot Noir provides aromas of red fruit and terrior, while the Chardonnay gives the wine its warm notes of yellow fruit.
