Description
The balance, finesse and fantastic complexity of this organic rosé, which is also reflected in the design of the bottle that combines lightness and elegance, makes it clear that we are talking about a special Rosé here. The LEOS CUVEE AUGUSTA 2022 comes from the vineyard owned by Patrick Bruel (singer, actor and artist) but is made by Perrin (winemaker: Nicolas Jaboulet) known from Chateau Beaucastel and Miraval . This fantastic rosé was born in 2022 and is primarily intended for lovers of great rosés, for aperitifs and meals. Art and a Rosé with a capital R go hand-in-hand here.
The character of the LEOS “Cuvée Augusta” 2022 rosé comes from the fine dosage between Grenache that provides a good basis for the structure and aromatics, Bourboulenc that provides fatness and Vermentino that provides spice and boost and offers a nice fresh aftertaste. It is also the result of a subtle blend between the natural freshness of the Ventoux, the precise and elegant aromas of the Luberon and the concentration and richness of the Alps. The wine comes from the Vaucluse appellation.
The name "Vaucluse" comes from the medieval Latin "Vallis Clausa" (closed valley). The region shares its name with a department near Avignon, located at the foot of the Vaucluse mountains. A serious advantage with the current warming is that wines from the Vaucluse are that these wines retain their acidity well, thanks to the exposure of the hills to the Mistral winds from the Rhône. This influence, combined with significant sun exposure, is key to the deeply expressive wines that retain enough acidity to develop a well-balanced structure. This becomes more and more of a challenge every year for the more southern and lower wines that get too much fruit and too little acid, causing them to lack depth.
The Domaine Leos Cuvée Augusta Rosé has a beautiful pale pink color with a beautiful shine. The nose is seductive with floral notes and white flesh. The wine is fruity dry and surprisingly full with good acidity and fresh white and red fruit with a nice length in the mouth leaving a pleasant aromatic persistence. This LEOS rosé is a gastronomic rosé that can be enjoyed as an aperitif and with a meal, where the harmony between freshness and roundness goes perfectly with exceptional dishes. As a starter you will appreciate the AUGUSTA cuvée with, for example, a tomato salad, a ceviche or a beef carpaccio. It is perfect with most Mediterranean dishes in general and especially with white meat and seafood. At the end of a meal it goes very well with cheeses such as goat's cheese, sorbets and most fruit desserts. A tip for a great experience: drink LEOS rosé with goat cheese covered with candied wild thyme. An explosion of flavors!

Domaine Leos is a collaboration between the famous French singer Patrick Bruel and Nicolas Jaboulet (head winemaker of Perrin and owner of DOMAINE LES ALEXANDRINS) will also launch an amazing Provence Rosé with the 2022 vintage. They had a passion for years to make a gastronomic terroir rosé and enabled them. Perrin also makes the Miraval, but this is one level smarter in our opinion.
Nicolas Jaboulet turns forgotten vines or old vines on exceptional terroirs into fantastic wines to achieve the best expression of the appellation. The work in the vineyard is done in the old-fashioned way, with respect for the terroir. The soil is worked in such a way that biodiversity comes back to life and the grapes get the best. Perrin's wine knowledge and Patrick Bruel's biological focus and knowledge of sampling are the basis for the ROSE LEOS CUVEE AUGUSTA 2022 - Vin rosé d'exception / Bio
