Marc Morey's History

Marc Morey is a family business with a history that goes back several generations. The estate was founded in the early 20th century by Fernand Morey. Over time, the wine tradition was passed down through the family. The estate has vineyards in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune, in the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. These two villages are known for producing some of the world's best white Burgundy wines, especially from Chardonnay grapes. Marc Morey focuses on producing high quality white Burgundy wines, including village level wines, Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines. They are best known for their Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet wines. These wines are highly sought after by wine lovers and collectors.

Terroir and production of Marc Morey

Marc Morey is celebrated for their ability to express the specific terroir of the vineyards they come from. The winery's commitment to preserving the unique characteristics of each vineyard is a hallmark of their winemaking approach. The winemaking process at Marc Morey emphasizes traditional Burgundian techniques, including careful manual harvesting, minimal intervention in the cellar and the use of oak barrels for maturation. These practices allow the wines to develop complexity and depth while retaining their freshness. These practices are aimed at preserving the integrity of the land and the long-term health of the vineyards.
