Vosne-Romanée wine is produced in the commune of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits and in the neighboring commune of Flagey-Échezeaux. The Appellation d'origine contrôlée Vosne-Romanée may only be used for red wine whose main grape is Pinot Noir. No other Pinot Noir wine from anywhere in the world has so far caused a furor, aroused the admiration or dominated prices as those of the vineyards around the village of Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. While there are excellent Vosne-Romanée wines with Village and Premier Cru status, it is the six Vosne-Romanée Grand Cru vineyards whose names are revered: Romanée-Conti, La Romanée, La Tâche, Richebourg, Romanée-St- Vivant and La Grande Street.

The wines each express the different nuances of their terroir, but they are all are known for their power, conveyed with the slow-motion grace of a Bruce Lee Kung-Fu kick. Wine critics seem to go back and forth on which is the best between La Tâche and Romanée-Conti depending on the vintage, but if the price is the deciding factor then Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's Romanée-Conti price at $12,000 to $ 16,000 per bottle is the knockout.
